Perfect

Hello There!

I’m here after covering the previous post LP records of my times. My times are still going on and so I want to talk about a very contemporary topic today. And that is ‘Perfect’? This is a very interesting blog believe you me! Because I’m going to be discussing the sensation called Ed Sheeran and it’s going to be fun. You will also get to hear me after a long time with my cover version of the song ‘Perfect’. So that should be a bonus, I suppose.

Perfect by Ed Sheeran

I heard his song called ‘Perfect’ just a month or so ago. I was traveling in the car with my kids and my daughter and son who listen to a lot of music just happened to put this number for all of us. They were hearing a playlist on Youtube and it had this song ‘Perfect’. I really hope that you all have listened to it because I love the song very much and feel that it is such a beautiful number.

Even if you don’t listen to English music (I’m addressing my readers in India who would possibly prefer the Bollywood flavor), and you are not a fan, this is truly a song that you will enjoy. And that’s the strong reason for which I’ve put up my cover of the song. After listening to it I hope that you actually may get motivated to check out Ed Sheeran’s original number! If not, I hope you do enjoy the cover in any case.

Super Sensation

To talk to you a bit about this guy, I know for one that he is a super sensation. He is so gifted. Not only does he sing so beautifully, but he also writes his own songs! Yes, he is a songwriter who has written for other famous music stars like Justin Bieber too. For Bieber, he wrote the hit song ‘Love Yourself’ in 2015 which he apparently did when he was in a bad mood! He also did a Pink Floyd cover “Wish you were here” during the closing ceremony of the London Olympics in 2012. He was once nominated for the Grammy award and won it twice at a later date.

Love for maths

And to top it all he is a mathematician of sorts who has named his three albums + (Plus), X (multiply) and ÷ (divide) and therefore I assumed he loves to be “perfect”. All his albums have been raging hits and the third one was a bestseller in the UK, US, and Australia. It was named the bestselling album for 2017. Amazing isn’t it?

Scintillating performance

Did you know that just yesterday, that is the 9th of November this guy performed for over two hours in a concert in Atlanta, USA, at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium? I read in a report that it was just him and his guitar… no band or backup vocals. To perform without a band is just awe-inspiring. I haven’t heard of it so far. It is so inspiring to know that the crowd of over 51000 were spellbound by his vocal performance and guitar playing.

Top 5 by Ed Sheeran

I read a beautiful article on this covered by Atlanta Journal-constitution staff writer Melissa Ruggieri and I refer you to her coverage of the event in greater detail. If you want to know more about the UK born Edward Christopher Sheeran you must look up his impressive profile on the net too. I have listed his really famous songs below:

  1. The team A
  2. Thinking out loud (two Grammy awards for that)
  3. Shape of you (Any teenager you find will swear by this number)
  4. Castle on the hill (A top song and Melissa Ruggieri rates it as his finest song)
  5. Perfect (My favorite and that must have become obvious by now)

Guitaring and Singing

I love the lyrics of this song Perfect. It is romantic to the core. It has a lovely tune too. In the cover, I’m accompanied by a backing guitar track from ‘Sing2guitar’. Though I do a bit of rhythm guitaring myself and do usually accompany myself when I sing, I found the backup track beautiful and felt compelled to use it.

I give credit to ‘Sing2guitar’ and ‘Youtube’ and I am grateful to them for the track. So there you are, I have given you a snippet of info about this brilliant songster and I hope you take to his music.

I hope that Ed Sheeran reads this blog sometime and I want to ask him what made him write in his lyrics of this song “I don’t deserve this, you look perfect tonight”. I think Ed Sheeran it should have been, “I deserve this, you look perfect tonight!” That’s because you deserve it, Ed Sheeran!

With that, I sign off today. Do subscribe, rate and review this blog. Do leave comments on how you liked the cover of ‘Perfect’.

Have a ‘Perfect’ musical day!
